New Beginnings

Hi there. Its been a second. I know nobody really reads these but, i figure Ill be explicit about this, so as to dedicate myself and hold myself to these promises.

I have become lethargic and low energy. To a degree, this is my untreated mental health issues. To another, its a factor of my momentum. I havent been doing much since school ended, and its killing me slowly.

I also have some hangups about my lack of action on political topics.

So, Im turning this into a daily blog, if i can manage to do so. This is forward-dated to the day I am set to return from a weeklong out of state journey with my biological family. Starting when this goes live, I intend to make daily updates to this blog, as both a form of journaling and as a way to hold me to various commitments. These commitments are as follows:

By August: - [ ] aquire updated non-driver ID - [ ] aquire driver's license - [ ] study for and attempt radio license test - [ ] establish workout routine - [ ] establish siesta-style sleep schedule scheduled around my future class schedule

I also have an excursion planned to Providence, RI, in mid-june, which I will be blogging about. I plan to fare dodge commuter rail to new haven, and then take the northeast regional the rest of the way to providence - 10 bucks each way, so 20 bucks for the whole trip, which is a fine deal so long as i can fare dodge like i used to back in high school.

Aside from specific plans, I want to establish a habit of doing as many interesting things as possible. I wont be able to talk about them every day, due to opsec reasons - i dont need to be doxxed, though I am okay saying I live in the New York metro area, theres enough millions of people here.

I will be at least specific enough, however, to discuss the Delights.

I am taking this concept from a twitter post, about a philosophy called the Nine Delights, which enumerates nine joyous activities which one should aim to complete three of per day. I expand this to include a tenth, but we'll get to that

he original nine are as follows:

  1. Walking Around: Self explanatory.
  2. Fellowship: Spending time with friends and family.
  3. Deliciousness: Having food or drink worth consuming.
  4. Transcendence: Feeling that you have reached a different level of some sort; alternatively, when you do one of the other delights to the extreme and feel really good about it. (You will know transcendence when it happens)
  5. Goofing: Having a good laugh (genuine laughter with friends, watching a funny movie or comedy special,
  6. Amelioration: The act of making something better; improvement. Volunteer work, skill building.
  7. Decadence: Great source of pleasure or relaxation such as receiving physical touch, mud masks, hot bath, massage, etc.
  8. Enthrallment: Becoming incredibly engaged in something; hyper focusing on something.
  9. WILDCARD: Something delightful that does not fit one of the above delights.

and my tenth delight 10. Transgression: break a social norm. perhaps a minor law (trespassing in an abandoned building, fare evasion, &c.)

From here on out, i will be tracking which delights I experience each day,
